Welcome to our Year 8

Year 8 is the final year of Middle School and preparation for the move into Scarisbrick Hall College.  Subjects are taught in sets for Science, English, Maths and Modern Foreign Languages.  Expectations are high both in academic performance and behaviour for pupils in this year. 

Middle School House Captains, Games Captains, school council representatives and duty prefects are drawn from this year. 

Year 8 is an exciting time academically and socially for all at Scarisbrick Hall School.  In Geography we study flooding and how it affects people’s lives. In History we study the Tudors, but look at different aspects of life such as sports and past-times. 

Science lessons are great fun with Mrs Howarth and Mr Barry.  We never know what exciting practical activity there will be in each lesson (Mr Barry likes things that go bang).  

In games we play football and rugby in the wetter months and we look forward to the summer when we can play cricket, tennis and do athletics on the school field. 

In maths we use a program called ‘MyMaths’, this online software allows us to track how we are doing and how we are compared to our classmates.
