Pastoral Care

We provide pupils with an education today which will enable them to face the challenges of tomorrow. We believe that moral values and a positive approach to life are just as important as high academic standards.

All pupils are required to abide by a code of behaviour similar to that normally expected within a family where emphasis is given to courtesy, politeness, respect for parents and others, co-operation, tolerance, kindness, honesty and integrity.

Our system is based on openly rewarding the good behaviour of pupils whilst retaining rigorous sanctions for the rare examples of unacceptable behaviour.

Overall the quality of pupils’ personal development is excellent. This is reflected in the happy, caring and respectful relationships that are prevalent throughout the school, including EYFS. The school successfully achieves its aims by providing equal opportunities for all and catering for the needs of each individual pupil.

The pupils’ spiritual awareness is excellent. In the spectacular setting, pupils develop a keen sense of identity, both as individuals and members of the supportive and friendly school community.  ISI Inspection 2011

The quality of pupils’ moral awareness is strong. The mutual trust between staff and pupils creates an environment where rules are respected and pupils develop a clear sense of right and wrong.  ISI Inspection 2011

The pupils demonstrate excellent social awareness and this owes to the way that they are encouraged to be caring and responsible members of the community. They grow up to be confident and articulate young adults. The pupils are polite to visitors and at ease when speaking to them.  ISI Inspection 2011

In a close-knit community, relationships between staff and pupils are excellent, resulting in a high level of trust that encourages pupils to seek help when it is needed. Pupils work and play well, are mutually supportive and look after one another.  ISI Inspection 2011

The pupils’ behaviour in lessons and around the school is exemplary. The school has effective arrangements for promoting good behaviour, guarding against harassment and dealing constructively with any unacceptable behaviour. Pupils said bullying is not a cause for concern but should it occur they know who to tell.  They understand the discipline system and regard the sanctions as fair.  ISI Inspection 2011
