Dance
Dance is a powerful and expressive subject which encourages students to develop their creative, physical, emotional and intellectual capacity. Dance is taught from First School to Sixth Form and pupils will gain a greater understanding of techniques as they move through the school.
Our dance curriculum is built upon strong foundations with Ballet, later developing into contemporary, lyrical and jazz.
The key elements of the curriculum are outlined below:
-
creativity and choreography
-
conditioning
-
contemporary and jazz technical development
-
performance skills
-
appreciation of professional works
-
analysing performance
-
performance experience
-
site specific choreography
Pupils will have a variety of performance experiences throughout their journey through school including ISA events, showcases and choreography competitions. We firmly believe in promoting dance for all, whilst encouraging those who excel to achieve to the best of their ability.
Students from Scarisbrick Hall School have won the ISA Northern Dance competitions in 2017, 2018 and 2019 as well as being the winners of the 2019 ISA National Dance Competition.
Individual Tuition
Alongside the curriculum offer, students can also opt to study individually or in small groups working towards RAD and IDTA accredited examinations.
