PASTORAL

Scarisbrick Hall First School
RECEPTION - YEAR 4

Pastoral themes are covered in the curriculum, in our Wellbeing programme, as well as in our First School assemblies. The calm atmosphere and caring ethos of the school encourages reflection and we take our school family’s values very seriously. Indeed one of the school’s stated aims is “to support and inspire learners to succeed in an environment of love and care.”

Furthermore, Year 4 pupils forge links with their “Buddies” in the Lower First School, where they serve as effective role models and gain early experience as young leaders. Similarly, one of the highlights of the week is the visit to the First School by College pupils who serve in pairs in a chosen First School class. Here they participate in lessons, hear readers and give any help required. Again, these older pupils serve as excellent role models and become yet another friendly face in school, helping make our youngest pupils feel valued and comfortable. Pupils are therefore set and ready for the fun and challenge of an outstanding education.
