Pupils enjoy more freedom and independence, where the benefits of our bespoke academic curriculum are bolstered by our Middle School’s excellent pastoral care.

Within Middle School, extra-curricular activities are enhanced through our Beyond The Classroom programme, allowing pupils to either further develop current skills or explore new and exciting opportunities."

Middle School Curriculum

Scarisbrick Hall Middle School encompasses academic Years 5 to 8. In Years 5 and 6, pupils at our Middle School study a range of subjects far beyond the standard national curriculum. Our specialist teachers deliver subjects in far greater detail than earlier years and aim to build upon the foundations of their education.

Students in Years 5 and 6 undertake the unique Middle School Passport. This enables our students to develop a wide variety of academic and social skills. The Middle School Passport aims to highlight the activities students have taken part in outside of school, along with any certificates and awards they have received. The unique Scarisbrick Hall Middle School passport leads our students to the Middle School Diploma in Years 7 and 8.

What is the Middle School Diploma?

The Middle School Diploma is a progressive award that starts in Year 7 and has been created to allow our students to independently learn and to recognise their progress in all aspects of school life. This Diploma is designed to provide our students with the independent and collaborative learning skills they need for their College career.

The curriculum in Years 5 and 6 takes pupils on a journey far beyond the standard national curriculum. As one of the leading independent schools in the country, we place emphasis on depth of understanding across a range of subjects with specialist teaching. In Years 7 and 8, pupils build and extend their knowledge further in preparation for GCSE study.

The pastoral care of our pupils is our highest priority. Tutors and form tutors provide guidance and support daily, providing a safe and encouraging environment for pupils to flourish. Our Middle School provides a nurturing, inclusive environment that fosters emotionally intelligent, resilient and confident young learners.
