As part of our Performing Arts programme, pupils age 4 upwards can learn dance through the
Royal Academy of Dance.

These classes are ideal for beginners and advanced dancers alike as they provide a solid foundation of skills for all other dance forms.
RAD offers an internationally recognised portfolio of examinations and assessments which is designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and abilities.

Miss S Dwyer
​
Miss Dwyer’s professional training started on a four year full time vocational programme where she studied many dance forms including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, musical theatre, street dance, hip-hop/commercial, drama and singing. She then went on to obtain registered teacher status upon graduating with the prestigious ‘Royal Academy of Dance’ with a Diploma in Dance Teaching Studies.
Miss Dwyer’s career as a dancer has included variety shows, pantomimes, fashion shows and music videos. Her highest accolade was performing alongside Darcey Bussell for Her Majesty The Queen live on BBC1 as part of The Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations in June 2016.

She has worked in all aspects of education, delivering one to one tuition in academic settings and further and higher education colleges and universities. She also spent five years as dance lecturer at the City of Liverpool College delivering BTEC dance.
​
Miss Dwyer has choreographed countless productions, events, community projects, and music festivals with work also appearing on television for SKY. More recently she was assistant choreographer creating a show on board the brand new TUI Discovery Cruise Ship with the show ‘Boogie Shoes’ (2016). Miss Dwyer gained her first West End credit as choreographer for ‘The Ruby Slippers’, at the Arts Theatre in London’s West End (July 2017).
