Scarisbrick Hall School Year 7 Entrance Examination Day 2021
Saturday 30th January 2021
Following the events of 2020 and working in conjunction with the COVID health and safety guidelines, we have decided to make a few amendments to the arrangements for the Entrance Examination this year. In a change to previous years, all pupils will be invited to attend on Saturday 30th January to sit the examinations.
As previously, pupils will sit examinations in English Reading & Writing, Maths & Science and each paper will be between 45 minutes and one hour in duration.
Presentations will take a slightly different format this year for our external candidates and will take place after lunch on the Entrance Examination Day with Associate Dean, Mrs Seddon. The candidates will be in groups of 6 and will be allocated a half-hour session per group. The Presentation should be for approximately 3/5 minutes on a subject of their choice. This can be delivered using ICT/Powerpoint but this is optional. The candidates can use pictures/keywords but should not read the Presentation. The Presentation assessment is based on the candidate’s ability to communicate with an audience and respond to questions.
Following their presentations, candidates will be invited to meet with the Headmaster, Mr Shaw for their interviews. This will also be done as a group.
If you would like to register your child to attend the Entrance Examination on Saturday 30th January 2021, please email Mrs Walmsley on email@example.com. Following this, further details will be sent out to confirm your registration and details of the day, along with some sample papers.
