Our curriculum
As an independent school, we are able to offer flexibility in the curriculum to suit the needs of your child. This means that we can tailor our curriculum offering to provide a more creative and engaging learning environment. Our First School curriculum offers a unique enhanced curriculum that is designed to not only provide a strong foundation but park the imagination of our pupils. The curriculum is supported by highly qualified teachers as well as subject specialists.
The Middle School curriculum (Year 5 – 8) begins in Year 5 where pupils are taught by specialist subject teachers in all of their lessons. They benefit from well resourced classrooms that are tailored for each individual subject. Pupils also undertake our unique Middle School Diploma, which has been designed to provide our pupils with the independent and collaborative learning skills they need for the next step in their educational journey.
When pupils enter College in Year 9, our unique curriculum and co-curricular programme encourages our students to develop the leadership skills, academic achievement, and the team working skills they need to excel. They are also able to take GCSE options earlier with many of our pupils achieving grade 7 – 9 (A*/A) Mathematics in Year 10.

Monitoring academic progress
Here at Scarisbrick Hall School, as a high performing independent school, we believe in transparency and clear communication with our parents. Every half term (approximately every six weeks), , parents receive an update on their child’s progress with written reports being issued twice a year. Teachers often meet to discuss students’ progress, where barriers to learning are examined and tackled to ensure that all of our pupils achieve their potential.
