Our First School provides the very best education for our youngest pupils as they begin their Scarisbrick Hall School journey. We welcome children from Pre School to Year 4 as they participate in an exciting creative curriculum. Children are guided by our dedicated staff, including specialist teachers, within a stunning and unique environment.
Scarisbrick Hall School First School
Our First School offers a wonderful start for our pupils in their academic learning. However, there is far more to education than the lessons that take place in the classroom. First School pupils are given the opportunity to experience a wealth of additional activities to enhance their learning from day one. Our bespoke learning programmes go well beyond the boundaries of the national curriculum with a wide variety of activities in Sports, Performing Arts and Outdoor Learning and exploration. Activities are designed to extend, enrich and excite pupils and develop resilience, determination, teamwork and self-belief.

Sports Life
Within our First School, sport plays an important part of each child’s development. Our philosophy is to provide our children with as much variety and as many opportunities as possible to develop a breadth of skills. With dedicated PE teachers and competitive sports opportunities, our sporting activities help promote a healthy attitude towards sport and fitness.
Performing Arts Life
Pupils in First School are encouraged to experience a wide range of musical instruments throughout our curriculum and are given the opportunity to perform in school productions. We encourage all our pupils, starting with the very youngest, to embrace the Performing Arts in all its forms and develop a lifelong appreciation of culture, music and the Arts.
Outdoor Learning Environment
We are blessed with beautiful and extensive grounds at Scarisbrick Hall School, which has enabled us to develop an impressive Outdoor Learning Environment. Our four qualified Outdoor Learning Specialists deliver a bespoke programme of learning, challenging the children creatively and socially as they work to complete a number of tricky but engaging tasks.
Beyond The Classroom
First School children are offered a rich variety of activities to supplement and stretch their learning in our carousel of ‘Beyond the Classroom’ opportunities. Weekly sessions in Performing Arts and Sports, with specialist teachers and external coaches enable children to develop or discover skills in such activities as dance, drama, percussion, Taekwondo, yoga, fencing and a range of team sports.
In addition to this, pupils can choose from an array of lunchtime and after school clubs. They can start to learn a new language, a brass instrument or they could even try beginners’ chess. Netball, hockey, rugby, football, cross country and athletics clubs prove ever popular, while pupils in Year 3 and Year 4 can stretch their thinking and communication skills in our Junior Socrates Debating Club.
