Our aim is to ensure that we make the admissions process at Scarisbrick Hall School as smooth as possible for any prospective family whether they live locally or are relocating to the area. To find out more about Scarisbrick Hall School or to book a tour please get in touch with our admissions manager Mrs Suzie Walmsley, who can be contacted via email or telephone on +44 (0)1704 842 240. Families will be invited to have a tour either after school on a weekday or to attend one of our Saturday Personal Tour events.

Taster Days

Once families have had an opportunity to visit the school we invite prospective pupils to join us for two taster days in their current year group. Our taster days enable every prospective pupil to feel inspired by the learning opportunities that we provide, along with a deeper understanding of our ethos and values.

Over these two days, your child will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our engaging and high-quality lessons within our small class settings. This will enable them to gain a deeper understanding of the high academic standards and close rapport we aim to instil into our students. As part of the taster days they will be asked to take part in assessments and they will also have the opportunity to experience our extracurricular activities and PE lessons, ensuring they get a real taste of the opportunities we offer here at Scarisbrick Hall School as well as taking part in entry assessments.

Prospective children attend in their current school uniform for the taster days and bring with them their PE kit. We will provide lunch on both days, and you may wish to send them in with a snack and water bottle or they can purchase a snack at break.

We would also ask that you provide us with the most recent copy of your child’s school report. If your family currently resides overseas or elsewhere in the UK, we can make arrangements for any assessments to be completed in their current school.

To find out more about our taster days, please contact Mrs Suzie Walmsley.

Feedback Meeting with the Headmaster

Following your child’s two taster day sessions, you will be invited to meet with the Headmaster, Mr Shaw and the Dean of First School, Mr Hanson.

This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about our progressive independent education and bespoke curriculum, as well as to discuss your child’s assessments. You and your child will also be given the opportunity to feedback on the two taster days at Scarisbrick Hall School. This will provide you with a chance to openly address any questions or concerns you may have.

Admission & Application

There are a number of factors that play into your child being offered a place at Scarisbrick Hall School. Alongside other variables, we consider your child’s entry assessment as well as their own personal experience of the two taster days that they attend. We will also request references from your child’s current school. Upon us being provided with satisfactory references from their current school, you will be contacted by our admissions office, who will inform you if your child has been successful in securing a place at Scarisbrick Hall School.

Once your child has been offered a place at Scarisbrick Hall School and you have accepted this, you must sign and return an original copy of the Admission Form, along with a £250.00 registration fee. If you have any questions, please contact our Admissions Office.

Entry into Reception

Starting school is a big step for children and parents so we aim to ensure that we make the transition as smooth as possible.

Whilst the majority of our Pre School children transition through to Reception, we have a number of applicants from external settings also joining us.

Following a tour of the school you will be invited to complete the admission form to confirm a place to start in Reception in the academic year they will be 5 years old, along with paying the £250 registration fee.

Over the coming months our Reception teachers will start the transition, arrange meetings with you and visit your child’s current setting to ensure they get to know you as a family.

We also invite our families starting Reception to join us for a Forest School experience in our Outdoor Learning Environment to enable you to get to know other families starting out on the same journey at Scarisbrick Hall School.

Entry into other Year Groups

Throughout the academic year, we receive many inquiries from families looking to move school due to relocation or a change in circumstances. As a result of this, we welcome entry into our school at any age, from age 4 to age 17.
