Work Location: Scarisbrick Hall School
Salary: £12.80 per hour
Contract:  Permanent, 10:00am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Reporting to: Head Chef

About the role

Scarisbrick Hall School is looking for a caring, organised and proactive Catering Assistant to join our catering team, supporting both our Nursery and Main Kitchen.

This is a varied role helping to provide safe, nutritious and high-quality food for children across the school. A key part of the position will be supporting our Early Years provision, including the preparation, transportation and serving of food, alongside maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and allergen management.

Working closely with our catering and Nursery teams, you will help ensure dietary requirements are carefully managed and food is prepared and served appropriately for our youngest children.

What we're looking for:

  • Has experience in catering, food service, hospitality or a school environment
  • Has a good understanding of food hygiene and food safety
  • Is organised, reliable and has excellent attention to detail
  • Understands the importance of allergen and dietary management
  • Works well as part of a busy team
  • Has a positive, caring and professional approach
  • Experience within a nursery, school or childcare environment and a Level 2 Food Safety Certificate would be advantageous.
