Salary: £28,142 pro rata (£22,513 actual)

Position Type: 40 hours per week 8:30am – 5:30pm, Term time only.

About the role
Pupil Services is a key position within the pastoral team at Scarisbrick Hall. The role serves as the first point of contact for pupils and parents seeking support with a range of day-to-day issues, ensuring that students’ practical and well-being needs are met effectively and efficiently. The role combines administrative, well-being, and customer service duties, requiring a proactive, caring, and organised individual who can maintain a positive and supportive school environment.
This position requires someone who can manage pupil services such as lost property, help students with organisational issues, and provide first aid, all while maintaining an approachable and empathetic manner to support the overall well-being of the school community.

Key responsibilities:
- Concierge & Administration Support – Providing a welcoming first point of contact for pupils, parents, and staff, delivering exceptional customer service, managing pupil enquiries, supporting day-to-day school operations, and assisting with administrative tasks.
- Pastoral & Wellbeing Support – Supporting pupil wellbeing through guidance, pastoral care, and initiatives that promote a positive and inclusive school environment.
- First Aid & Health Management – Delivering first aid, maintaining health records, monitoring pupil medical needs, and ensuring appropriate care and support is provided.
- Communication & Parent Liaison – Building positive relationships with parents, pupils, and staff, providing updates, responding to enquiries, and supporting effective communication across the school community.
Skills:
- Relevant Experience – Previous experience in a school, educational, pastoral, welfare, or administrative support role, with an understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Communication & Relationship Building – Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, staff, and visitors.
- Organisation & Administration – Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Resilience & Professionalism – Able to remain calm under pressure, handle sensitive situations with discretion, and provide a professional and supportive service.
- Problem Solving & Initiative – Proactive, resourceful, and solution-focused, with the ability to anticipate needs and respond effectively to challenges.
- Teamwork & Personal Qualities – Caring, approachable, and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to pupil welfare and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or health and well-being is desirable but not essential.
- A current First Aid qualification (or the willingness to obtain one) is required.
