How Scarisbrick Hall School’s co-curricular clubs aim to enrich your child’s learning and development

Our aim at Scarisbrick Hall School is to not only support pupils academically, but encourage them to explore passions that go beyond the classroom as a varied program of co-curricular clubs can enrich your child’s learning by allowing them to develop physically, mentally and socially.

We offer a wide range of co-curricular activities across the school including our Year 7 & Year 8 Astronomy Club; where pupils have the opportunity to use telescopes to view the nights sky and journal their observations, pupils will also have access to Liverpool John Moore’s Telescope in the Canary Islands to further their understanding.

Our Year 3 & Year 4 Debating Club provides pupils in First School with the opportunity to express their opinions and broaden their knowledge of the world in which they live in.

As our pupils progress throughout the school, they have the opportunity to partake in clubs including our Law Society. This provides pupils with an insight into the British Legal System and each year they will have the opportunity to take part in a mock trial which is led by John Jones QC, a leading barrister from Liverpool Exchange Chambers and be supported by other law professionals.

Taking part in extracurricular activities is essential to broaden pupils’ understanding of the world in which they live in, which is why we aim to provide pupils with a holistic approach to co-curricular learning and take advantage of our vast surroundings and grounds.

Many of the clubs and activities that we offer throughout the school can be accredited for with examinations including RAD and IDTA Dance qualifications and we believe that taking part in extracurricular activities can help pupils stand in good stead when it comes to completing their UCAS applications.

During our recent ISI Inspection, it was concluded that “Academic achievements outside of the curriculum include exceptional success in competitions at regional and national level in coding, mathematics challenges and Olympiads, Science Olympiads, music and drama (LAMDA) examinations and dance and essay writing competitions.”

Our Tutoring, Coaching, Mentoring (TCM) Holiday Club offers pupils the opportunity to continue their learning and exploration during school holidays. We offer 1-2-1 and small group sessions for our sports camps and multi-activity holiday clubs including Make It Monday and Woodland Wednesday throughout the year.
